Day 3 – confined to the motorhome

As for most people in the country, storm Bert is affecting our day and like most sensible folk, we are staying in. The wife is still in her dressing gown (at 12:30), but those who know her won’t be surprised. I on the other hand, had to venture out with the dog dressed in full waterproofs.

So what do we do on days like this in the motorhome (which is wildly shaking in the breeze). Well wifey switched on the TV to watch ‘Married at First Sight’ – yes, sad I know. So I donned the headphones and listened to some music whilst reviewing the photos I’ve taken so far.

I don’t spend a great deal of time editing the photos initially as I need to get some ready for this blog. But when I have more time I do tinker a little more to see what I can do to enhance or perhaps create a new image from a photo. So I look to see if black and white creates a better image. See what you think from the examples below. Viewing a web image on a PC or MAC, there is a slider for easier comparison.

I still like both, but the black & white presents a more rugged image.
Probably the colour version is best, but I may give the B&W some more time.
I quite like the B&W version – it actually much ‘punchier’ in lightroom before I exported it.
Here the B&W is definitely better, but your opinion may differ.

Tomorrow we may have more of the same weather, but if the rain eases in the afternoon, we may head out for some rough sea shots – so watch this space.
